During individual counseling, coping skills and new ways of thinking are developed to overcome the problems holding you back. We will work to pinpoint habits, beliefs, and behaviors that are no longer serving you and replace them with new thoughts and behaviors.
Interactions and patterns in families that bring them to counseling are often “failed solutions”. Meaning at one point the interaction or behavior was a solution to a problem, but over time it has failed to work and no longer resolves the problem. Let go of “failed solutions” and develop skills to resolve current and future conflict.
Couples come to counseling for many reasons including poor communication, trust issues, and grief/loss to name a few. Through use of Gottman Method, learn to build trust and commitment, manage conflict, and turn towards each other instead of away.
